 A Short Biography of Tina Maas

Tina Maas has a BA in Graphic Design and an MA in photography from Central Saint Martins in London. Tina has been writing book reviews and conducted interviews for the photography website takegreatpictures.com and also assisted on several mentor series photo treks, which are run by American Photo Magazine and Popular Photography Magazine. In 2003 she assisted at the Santa Fe Photographic workshops in New Mexico.

Tina has had solo exhibitions at the Islington Arts Factory and the Freud Cafe in Covent Garden. She has taken part in numerous international group shows including the Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado, the Texas Photographic Society, the London Photographic Assosciation and the Tilt Gallery in Phoenix, Arizona. Tina won first prize in the people category at the prestigious PX3 competition, which exhibited her work in Paris in 2007. She has been selected as a UK winner for the touring show of Flash Forward by the Magenta Foundation in 2009.

Tina has been teaching digital photography courses for several years. Her photographic work has been published in John Ingledew's book Photography (Laurence King, 2005), the first edition of alternative photography's "Art and Artists" (2006) and her work was featured on the cover of Diffusion Magazine (2009). In 2013 her images were selected for Jill Enfield's new book "Jill Enfield's Guide to Photographic Alternative Processes".

For the past 10 years Tina has had a stall at London's Spitalfields Market where she sells her work directly to the public every Sunday. She lives in London with her partner and three children.
